Selection Services

With Cornerstone Solutions Selection Services, choosing the right supply chain application just got easier. Using our structured methodology, we can help you sort through the hundreds of packages on the market and find the solution that fits best with your business needs, IT requirements and vision.

With over 100 years of distribution experience and dozens of selections under our belt, we can successfully manage the entire selection process - from requirements definition to RFP development/distribution to vendor negotiation through implementation.

Our selection services include:

Requirements Definition

A requirements definition is the first step to ensuring a successful selection. During the requirements evaluation, Cornerstone Solutions, Inc. will create a Requirements Definition Document that will contain a detailed review of the current operational environment at your facility. This review will include documentation of your processes, technology, and personnel and will identify the specific functionality needed to support your requirements. In addition, a review of industry best practices and your vision for the future will help to identify the processes and/or technology needed to support your future operation.

Wondering whether or not you'll see an ROI for your investment? We are committed to protecting your investment. If you are considering distribution technology we'd be happy to generate a free ROI analysis for your project. Just click here or call 260-496-8259, extension 300 for more information.

RFP Development & Distribution

Based on the necessary functionality identified from the Requirements Definition, Cornerstone will develop a detailed Request for Proposal (RFP) that will be sent out to a group of potential technology vendors. By developing a business flow diagram, we ensure that each vendor addresses how their solution will meet each of your specific business needs.

Because we do not resell any hardware or software and are not financially bound to any vendor, you can trust us to provide completely unbiased guidance in the selection process. Although some vendors provide a template that is geared toward their specific solution, our RFP template is customized to focus on your unique business requirements. Our RFP addresses functionality requirements; technical information, including platform and programming language; specific vendor information, including number of installs and upgrade policies; and detailed pricing information such as software license fees and expected hardware costs.

Scripted Vendor Demos

After receiving the RFP responses, Cornerstone will perform an extensive evaluation and scoring comparison to determine a final “short list.” The final short list (2-3 vendors) will then be sent process scripts to demonstrate software capabilities within your specific needs.

Cornerstone will then attend vendor demonstrations to assist with the scoring and evaluation of the demonstrations. Using our structured format, we can ensure that vendors don't just sell you on the highlights of their package, but that they demonstrate the system's capabilities relating to your specific functionality needs.

Reference Checks and Site Visits

Our thorough vendor reference checks include references for support, documentation, and customer service. We also facilitate on-site vendor tours of your facility and site tours at facilities where the vendors have previously implemented their solution.

Vendor Negotiations

Once a vendor and package is selected, Cornerstone will assist you in pricing negotiations which will include a review of the purchase agreements and a review of the implementation proposal to ensure that it is both realistic and positions you for success.

If you would like to continue to work with us, we are available after the selection to deliver your solution. Since we are a full-service provider, we can manage and oversee the entire implementation including conference room pilot, gap analysis, system testing, cutover, on-site support, education and training.
